Know Your Car: Tire Pressure

Some people are under the assumption if you exceed the max pressure listed on the sidewall of your tire, it could expand to the point of explosion. This is untrue. The burst pressure—the point at which a tire will explode—is much higher than the max pressure. To properly inflate your tires, check your owner’s manual or the placard on the driver’s doorjamb for the correct air pressure needed to carry the load of the vehicle.
