Know Your Car: ABS

Antilock braking systems shorten the stopping distance of a vehicle, but that is not their main objective. The main objective of ABS is to allow the driver to brake as hard as possible and still steer the vehicle. Shorter stopping distance is simply a byproduct of ABS.
